Aging And My Dear Parents’ Health Care

This entry was posted on Jan 25 2010

As my dad and mom age I grow more stressed with their health care with each new year. My mother and father were once such robust, healthy individuals. But these days it seems every time I visit home I observe some new troubling development with either of their health care.

Last year my mom developed these odd pale blotches whenever she was exposed to the sun for more than a couple minutes. Thankfully it turned out to be nothing too serious. We found a site which explained the simple causes of such blotches: White Spots From Tanning. This site really assisted us to put our minds at ease and better understand the truly serious melanoma symptoms we really ought to know.

This year she thinks she began to experience gluten intolerance symptoms. I advised her to visit the website I linked for you in my last sentence, and today she feels much more confident to tackle the potential of a gluten-free future. She’s seeing her doctor about it now, but we are still not sure if my mother has Celiac Disease (gluten intolerance) or not.

And in the mean time, my father has recently developed Barrett’s Esophagus symptoms, something probably more people may be experiencing than they realize. While Barrett’s Esophagus itself isn’t specifically deadly, it can many times accompany more serious conditions such as stomach cancer and it can be an early indicator of esophagus cancer.

DISCLAIMER: While I hope my story and the internet websites I discovered to help my family in turn help you as well, please note that I am not a doctor and you should consult a medical professional before taking any medical suggestions from the World Wide Web.
